Roulette Tactics: Zero Chance

Posted By Diego | Roulette-Strategy News | August 18, 2010, 05:09 AM |

Since making its way to the Internet, online roulette has been one of the most popular games played at casinos and game-specific rooms. There’s no truer gambling game available in terms of betting options. Odd/even, single numbers, combinations, thirds, colors – bet lovers find their thrill on the wheel like no other game offered.
However, a lot of roulette players don’t want to “gamble” at all. They want to break the system down and continuously win. To that end, they try a multitude of systems that are supposedly designed to cover the entire board.
There are many systems out there that claim to work. But instead of going over the complexities of the percentages and the inner workings of every system claiming to be golden, let’s just speak in simplistic and realistic terms.
The roulette wheel contains the numbers 1-36, obviously, alternating in red and black, with two zeroes (0,00) on the America wheel and one zero (0) on the European wheel. Because of these zeroes, it becomes—regardless of what you think you’ve heard—an impossibility to take away the house’s small advantage. And with this advantage, the house is favored to win in the long haul.
Your favorite strategy might work. It seriously might. But over the course of your game, you’re going to find that the zeroes are just unavoidable and outright crippling. And even if you always play the zero(s), you’re left vulnerable in other areas.
Instead of trying to play around the wheel, like so many so-called “brilliant” systems do, the only true way to ensure you maximize your odds—more correctly, minimize the house’s—is to eliminate the threat of a zero crippling your efforts. For instance, the American roulette wheel is a losing battle. Honestly. The two zeroes are insurmountable. With the European roulette wheel, having only one zero, your odds are much better. But for the best possible odds—actually almost even in your favor for even money bets (odd/even, red/black)—the French roulette wheel is the best chance you have.
The French roulette wheel is exactly like the European wheel, the only difference is the game rule called “en prison.” With this rule, if your chips are placed on even money bets, your money stays frozen if the wheel hits zero. For example: if you place 10 on black and land on zero, you don’t lose the money. The money stays on black and you can spin again, thus increasing your odds of winning but, more importantly, decreasing your odds of losing.
The next time you decide to sit down and play roulette with your strategy of choice, rethink your current position and check out a French rules table. This minor adjustment could result in huge winnings.
