Choosing Roulette Strategy

Posted By Diego | Roulette-Strategy News | December 29, 2011, 04:07 AM |

Since its inception the game of roulette has drawn players to the table, all eager to see their fortunes changed by the bounce of a ball. While the game itself has much in common with a lottery, gaming tacticians have sought to develop strategies that offer sure-fire wins in the most famous casino game of them all.

The main focus of strategy in roulette is how to make maximum return from minimum outlay. Naturally this would mean playing free games in a no deposit casino, earning bonuses for joining and playing through with that initial bankroll. Unfortunately for the bettor, this also usually requires maximum effort and cannot always be relied upon to be a guaranteed winning strategy.

Most betting systems in roulette arose from the Martingale system of betting, and are variations on this theme. The Martingale system revolves around the premise of staking a small amount with the lowest possible return of odds. For example, the lowest return on odds in roulette is betting on either red or black, each having a 50:50 chance of success. For every £1 bet, a successful return will earn £1 back. Should the first return be successful, the original stake is then bet in the next round, but if the bet is unsuccessful the stake must be doubled. If that second stake is also unsuccessful, it must be doubled again.

In this case, the first stake would be £1, the second £2, the third £4, the fourth £8, and so on. This exponential rise in bets is the fatal flaw of the Martingale system, as it assumes a bottomless bankroll with which to keep doubling bets. In our example, a run of ten straight losses would require an initial bankroll of £512 just to make the tenth loss, and double that to see the player through to the eleventh game.

A variation on the theme is a system pioneered by an unnamed group of professional gamblers that requires number cards to keep a tally of the instances of red and black over 100 rounds of roulette. In their example, only in an instance of recording five straight results in either red or black should a player then bet on the opposite colour, on the premise that the next few ball drops will surely deliver the result they require.

In truth, online casinos use random number generators (RNGs) that are monitored by the Financial Services Authority to ensure that each spin on a roulette wheel or number picked in a game of bingo is unique and completely random. Monitoring them in this way is the only way to ensure complete fairness over luck-based casino games like roulette.

However, it is this luck that is as much the allure of the game as the attractive signup bonuses that entice them to any particular casino. There are many beliefs surrounding luck and how and why some people are luckier than others, but the feeling of being favoured by Lady Luck is a thrill that every roulette player loves to have, and that is why they keep returning to the table.
